Basic Biographical Details

Name: Wardrop & Anderson
Designation:
Born: 1885
Died: 1899
Bio Notes: In 1885 George Washington Browne withdrew from the partnership of Wardrop, Anderson & Browne for reasons which do not seem to have been recorded. Although Robert Rowand Anderson was senior partner and Hew M Wardrop junior partner, the Wardrop name still took precedence in the practice title, probably because of its longer history and influential landed connections. The partnership was brief, Wardrop dying of appendicitis on 4 November 1887 at Udny Castle, Aberdeenshire, where he had been engaged on decorative work.

Anderson retained the practice title of Wardrop & Anderson until 1899 when he merged his practice with the partnership of Frank Worthington Simon and Alexander Hunter Crawford as Anderson, Simon & Crawford.
