Bio Notes: Derek Lovejoy & Associates was formed in 1962 as a multi disciplinary professional practice of architects, town planners and landscape architects. It was based in Croydon in the 1970s but had a branch office in Edinburgh. The landscape element of the practice operated almost completely independently in the 1970s in Manchester.

By 1981 there architectural side had offices in Christchurch, Dorset, Westminster, Manchester, Crawley and Paris. The partners were Derek Alfred Walter Lovejoy, G M Langley-Smith, J M Graham, D Simpson and J M Whalley.

In 1988 the original partners retired and new partners wished the practice to achieve international recognition as landscape architects and urban planners. The architectural element was severed and Keith Martin formed a new practice (DLM) Derek Lovejoy Martin with a name change to DLM Design in 1999.
