Bio Notes: Adam Elliot Watson was born on 1 May 1908, the son of William Currie Watson, works manager, and his wife Jeanne Robertson Sutherland. He was articled to Bryden & Robertson on 25 January 1925. He attended Glasgow School of Architecture and after completing his five-year apprenticeship he moved to the office of Wylie, Wright & Wylie. He passed the final exam in August 1934 and was admitted ARIBA on 14 January the following year, his proposers being Thomas Harold Hughes, William James Smith and Andrew Graham Henderson. His nomination papers unusually omit his middle name.

Watson remained with the Wylie firm after the dissolution of the partnership with Wright and the subsequent formation of the partnership of Wylie, Shanks & Wylie in 1936. He spent the war in London on factory work, and thereafter was taken into partnership by Andrew David Haxton of Leven and St Andrews (born 1878). Haxton retired in 1950. Watson ws elected FRIAS in 1953.

Watson continued the practice until his retirement c.1973. He resigned his RIBA membership in February 1977, at which time he was living at 5 Scoonie Place, Leven. The practice was continued by David Moir. Watson died at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy on 2 February 1995, survived by his wfie Joyce Marguerite Reaves, and theri daughter.
