[Builder 1 January 1937 Page 41] The Dean of Guild Court has passed plans submitted by Mr Richard G Williamson “Rockwood” Hillside Road, Barrhead, for the erection of a cinema in Cross Arthurlie-street. [Builder 21 April 1939 Page 768] Zita Craig writes in 2008: 'Building now derelict...The building has been empty for at least 15 years and is in a state of disrepair...In the seventies it was a bingo hall and I am unsure when it ceased to be a cinema, although I have cousins in their late 50s who recall going going to the cinema'. |
