Notes: The two-century old church in Kirk-street, Campbeltown, which for many years was a ruin, and has now been restored for mission purposes in connection with the parish churches, was opened on Friday by the Very Rev. Dr. Russell, ex-Moderator of the General Assembly. The church, which provides accommodation for 500, has been restored from a plan by Mr H E Clifford, architect, Glasgow. It was built in 1705, and was used as a place of worship till 1780, when the present Castlehill Church was built. Thereupon it passed into the possession of the Duke of Argyll, who in 1886 feued it to Saint John's Lodge of Freemasons. The cost of the restoration has been about £l,800.
