Bio Notes: W J Cairns & Partners was found in 1972. Cairns graduated from Durham with a diploma in landscape design and was MCP, MIT, NDH, FILA, FInstPet. The practice consisted of engineers and architects and they were Environmental Consultants Planners, Architects and Landscape Architects. The Partnership, incorporated in 1986, employed over 50 professional staff in three principal offices and executed over 500 commissions

In 1996 a new company, Cairns Limited was formed and in 1999 Intersphere Consulting Group. Consultants specialising in mainly large scale infrastructure planning, design and environmental management projects in the UK and overseas.
