Bio Notes: Alexander Davidson 'Jock' Paul was born on 28 February 1920, the son of John Paul, managing director of a steel foundry and his wife Mary Davidson. He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art and was admitted ARIBA and ARIAS in 1954. From the late 1950s he was in practice with James Jack Roberts. Roberts died in October 1975 and Paul continued the practice on his own until the 1980s. He is not listed in the RIBA Directory of 1986.

Paul never married. He lived with his sister Jean who was not married either.

Paul died aged 83 at Woodlands Nursing Home, Livingston on 16 January 2004. His death was registered by his nephew.
