Bio Notes: Robert Bradshaw Watt was born in London on 23 June 1938, the son of William Watt, draughtsman. His family moved to Scotland at the beginning of the War and he was brought up in Airdrie. He attended Coatbridge High School and studied architecture at Glasgow School of Art. He completed his degree in 1963 and his first post was with William Nimmo in Glasgow. He was elected ARIBA in 1967 and ARIAS the following year. He was elected a Fellow of the RIAS in 1986.

In 1969 he moved to Methil to take over the practice of Peter Sinclair who died that year. Watt was passionate about his work and about improving the Levenmouth area. He was a founding trustee of the Leven Valley Development in 1997. He was also a member of the Levenmoth Childcare Management Committee, the Board of Abbeyfield Executive Committee and was a Trustee of Fife Historic Buildings Trust.

Outwith his professional life, WAtt had a wide range of interests. He was Chairman of the Fife Strathspey and Reel Society. He enjoyed painting and sailing and other forms of exercise. He alos raised money for charity by taking part in a walk along the Great Wall of China and in a trek tro Machu Picchu. His obituaritst noted that 'as Managing Director of the practice, his professionalism, enthusiasm and optimism was always an inspiration'.

He died on 14 May 2012, survived by his partner, Jeanette, his children and grandchild.
