Basic Biographical Details Name: | Maxwell, Stewart & Maxwell | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Maxwell, Stewart & Maxwell was formed by Frank F Maxwell, Archibald M H Stewart and William J Maxwell in about 1927. They were based in Glasgow. They also practised simultaneously under the style Stellmacs. In the 1938 edition of Kelly's Directory an advertisement for Stellmacs reports that they were 'designers and erectors of all classes of buildings: cinemas, churches institutions. Designs and estimates free'. Stellmacs seem to have been able to offer clients an all-inclusive service, which would have been attractive to cinema developers. They would design the cinema, which was generally unpretentious, small and economical but attractive and modern at the same time and to construct it as well.
It is as yet unclear if the firm operated after World War II. | Private and Business AddressesThe following private or business addresses are associated with this : | | Address | Type | Date from | Date to | Notes | | Glasgow, Scotland | Business | | | |
