Bio Notes: John Allan Mackenzie was born in 1849 or 1850, the son of Andrew Davidson Mackenzie, a Free Church clergyman, and his wife Margaret Flyte (or Flyter?). He practised as an architect-engineer in Inverness and was the Town's Master of Works in the 1880s. At the time of his death on 22 August 1903 his title was Burgh Surveyor. He was survived by his wife Anne Eliza Malcolm and his son, Andrew. No further details of him are yet known.
