Bio Notes: Alexander MacGregor was a pupil and principal clerk of William Burn - described as 'dark, Seceder-looking' in a letter to the Duke of Buccleuch when he submitted a design for the Houses of Parliament in 1834. He commenced practice on his own account c.1850 at 10 Forres Street, Edinburgh. In 1853-54 he moved to 3 North Charlotte Street, which was house as well as office. From c.1863 he was in partnership with ___ Miller (or Millar - CHECK). He died on 4 August 1868, leaving £98 16s 9d.
