Basic Biographical Details

Name: Datum Design Associates
Bio Notes: Datum Design Associates was operated in Aberdeen in the early 1970s with William G Cowie and Matthew W Merchant as partners. By 1975 Cowie and Michael Forbes Beattie were the partners, Merchant having left.

In 1978 Datum Design closed (they are still listed in the RIBA Directory of 1979 which may have gone to press before the closure) and Cowie practised on his own thereafter as William G Cowie Architects until Harry McNab was taken into partnership in 1986 and the name of the practice became the William Cowie Partnership. However Datum Design Associates is still listed in the 1981 directory.
