Basic Biographical Details Name: | John Ogilvie | Designation: | | Born: | 4 November 1914 | Died: | 19 November 1968 | Bio Notes: | John Ogilvie was born on 4 November 1914, the son of George Ogilvie, school teacher and his wife, Janet Forrest Gibb. He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art from October 1931. During his training he spent fifteen months in the office of Wimperis, Simpson & Guthrie in London and he travelled in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy with the aid of various scholarships. He obtained his diploma in June 1937 and was admitted ARIBA on 18 July 1938, his proposers being Arthur Forman Balfour Paul, Frank Charles Mears and Thomas Aikman Swan.
By 1950 he had taken a post with the Department of Health for Scotland in York Buildings, Edinburgh.
