Duncan Cameron (who is described as Duncan Cameron Jnr in RIBA directories and then later Duncan Cameron JP) was born on 1 June 1929 and studied part-time at Glasgow School of Art from 1946-1950, sitting the RIBA final exams in the latter year. During the same period he worked with Watson Salmond & Gray. He transferred to the office of Thomas S Cordiner in 1951. He remained with Cordiner for eleven years and was elected ARIBA in 1960. He then moved briefly to work with Peter Womersley from 1962 to 1963. In the latter year he set up business on his own account which became Duncan Cameron & Associates. The head office was in Galashiels and there were branch offices in Hawick and Peebles.
