Alexander Renton Richardson graduated BSc from the University of Aberdeen. He was elected ARIBA in 1953. He formed a partnership with John Mackay Lawrie who had studied at the School of Architecture also in Aberdeen. They had offices in Edinburgh, Inverness and Clydebank. Richardson would appear to have been in charge of the Edinburgh part of the practice.
