Frank Fielden was Professor of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde in the 1960s.

He was born on 3 October 1915. He studied on the 5-year course at the School of Architecture, the University of Manchester from 1933 to 1938, remaining for a further year of post-graducate research. He was admitted ARIBA on 16 December 1941. During the Second World War he served as a Major in a parachute regiment with the Royal Engineers. After he was discharged he worked for a year as a town planning officer with the Nigerian Government. In 1947 he returned to the United Kingdom and took a post as a lecturer at the School of Architecture at Durham University. At the same time he started private practice in Newcastle.

In his private practice Fielden handled a variety of jobs including private houses and several schemes of conversion of large terrace blocks into flats as weel as commercial work and work for the University of Durham. By 1955, the year of his election as FRIBA his practice was The Design Partnership. His proposers were Professor W B Edwards, Professor J S Allan, and J H Napper.

Fielden was a Professor in Glasgow from 1960 (or thereabouts). He also practised there as an architect, establishing Frank Fielden & Associates in 1964 (one of his associates being Frank Arneil Walker). He subsequently moved to work for the Royal Fine Art Commission, though this may not have been a salaried post. He resigned from the RIBA in 1972.

Fielden died in 2001 in Chichester.
