Peter Allan Beveridge Ramsay was born on 17 January 1925, the son of William Ramsay, tramway inspector, and his wife Christine Allan Beveridge. He studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen. He was elected ARIBA in 1956 and ARIAS in 1964. He was taken into partnership by ___ Mackie and R A Taylor before 1970. He is still listed as working in the practice in 1986 but is no longer listed in 1996.

He died on 6 June 2000 at the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen. He was survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Fraser, a retired school teacher and his son.
