John Lewis Womersley (known as Lewis) was born in 1909. He was chief architect in Sheffield City Council from 1953 to 1964. He was awarded the CBE in 1962. He joined Leslie Hugh Wilson in partnership in 1964 and retired in 1978.
He died in 1989.
