Bio Notes :
Thomas Peter Miller Somers was born on 14 June 1877 at 105 Shields Road, Glasgow, the son of Thomas Somers, a first officer in the merchant navy and his wife Agnes Miller. His parents had married on 4 August 1870. Somers went on to become Master of Works and City Engineer in Glasgow, a post which he held from 1925 to 1941.
He was found dead in his home, 43 Lubnaig Road, Glasgow on 22 November 1965. His cause of death was the extensive burns sustained in a fire, presumably a house fire.
