Bio Notes :
William George Robert Sprague was born at Ballarat East, Victoria, Australia on 7 September 1863. He was articled to Frank Matcham from 1879 to 1883, and subsequently assisted in the office of Thomas Walter Lawrence Emden until 1886 when he appears to have commenced practice on his own account, becoming a distinguished theatre specialist. Around 1889 he took his assistant Bertie Crewe into partnership; the partnership was dissolved c.1896.
Sprague later practised in partnership with William Henry Barton, from 1927. He died at Maidenhead in 1933.
