Philip Dalton Hepworth was born in 1890 and studied at the Architectural Association Schools from 1906 to 1910, being articled to Alfred Conder in mid-course in 1908 and to Williams Elles & Scott in 1909-10. Thereafter he was assistant to Walter Frederick Cave, travelled in France and passed the qualifying exam in 1911, his proposers being Cave, Hugh Patrick Guarin Maule and William Adam Forsyth. He won the British School at Rome scholarship in 1914. Hepworth died in 1963.
