PROPOSAL: Complaint about not building.
NOTES: The complaint is against William Morrison, writer who has built on the greater part of his land feued from the Town Council. The petitioner has purchased a considerable area to the west of this and required Mr. Morrison to start on his cellars and pavement before he can build on his property. The petitioner cites and encloses a copy of the Act of the Town Council of 29 June 1785 ‘Rules with regard to feuing out the ground of the Extended Royalty…’ in which it states (7mo) that the feuar must begin work within one year of obtaining the feu or forfeit it and be liable for a fine of £30 Stg. The defender made fulsome replies on 27 April 1792 with no response from the Court.
