Notes: Information from David W Walker:

'Melgum Lodge (NJ40NE 42), the country house referred to as Listed Building 49499, and there named as Tigh Geal although according to the present day O.S. map Tigh-Geal is a separate property a short distance to the NE. I have no reason to doubt the list description’s assertion that Melgum Lodge is by George Bennett Mitchell, although drawings for it are not preserved at the archive.'

It is fairly safe to assume that the house was designed by Mitchell as the ancillary buildings certainly were: in 1901 contracts were advertised for the kennels and keeper's house. The plans could be seen at the office of Davidson & Garden. George Bennett Mitchell was head of the architectural department of this firm.
