Notes: 'Building commenced in 1934 and continued through to 1960, with only a brief break between 1941 and 1946. The total number of houses by 1961 was 1,561. It was used a location to build prototypes of a number of house types prominent in the 1930s, two of which were constructed on the concourse of Glasgow's central station.'


The 'Unit House' was a new semi-detached villa-type of four or five apartments.

The 'Colour Home' was a five apartment semi-detached villa, just designed by James Taylor and was built in considerable numbers by James Taylor.
