Notes: A special meeting of the town council was held on Friday in the burgh courtroom for the consideration of the report by Mr James Barron, Aberdeen, on the question of providing a basin at Lossiemouth harbour for the storing or laying-up of vessels when not engaged in fishing. The estuary of the river is bounded on its west side by the stone quays of the old harbour of Lossiemouth and on its east side by a mound of sand and gravel which, at its crest, rises above high water level, and thus forms a natural basin.
