COTTAGE HOSPITAL SKIPTON - Memorial stones in connection with the cottage hospital which is being erected at the west end of Skipton in commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee were laid on Saturday last week. The hospital is being erected from designs by Mr E C H Maidman of Edinburgh whose plans were successful in competition. [Builder 17 September 1898 p255]
SKIPTON COTTAGE HOSPITAL. The block plan given with the view of this building, printed among our illustrations to-day, displays the general arrangements. Male and female wards right and left of the administrative block in the centre, a very usual disposition of parts, and the sanitary provisions contrived in external pavilions. The laundry and mortuary are located in a distinct building to the left of the hospital. Mr. Edward C. H. Maidman, of Edinburgh, is the architect. [Building News 17 March 1899 Page 371]
At Skipton, a new Diamond Jubilee cottage hospital has just been opened. It is Domestic in style, accommodates 13 patients and four nurses, and has cost £2,740. The architect is Mr. Edward C. H. Maidman, of Edinburgh. [Building News 8 December 1899 p784]
