One of Glasgow's three prototype schemes of area rehabilitation, using powers of Housing Treatment Areas under the 1969 Housing (Scotland) Act to sponsor improvement itself (a less successful formula than that based on community housing associations).

Four street-blocks of four-storey red sandstone tenements, comprising c. 1,500 dwellings.

Area actually belonged to last Gorbals CDA (Hutchesontown-Polmadie) but was never begun.
