GRANGEMOUTH
Y.M.C.A. NEW INSTITUTE BUILDINGS. opening ceremony. Yesterday the opening ceremony in connection with the Y.M.C.A. new Institute Buildings took place. The buildings, which are Renaissance in style, are situated the corner of Kerse Road and Abbots Road. The main buildings consist of a large hall, giving sitting accommodation for 600 with retiring rooms from the platform and choir, and a kitchen. The main entrance is from Abbots Road, and on each side the vestibule are cloak-rooms, secretary's room, and a social parlour, while .suitable lavatory accommodation is also provided. Situated immediately above the social parlour is a lesser hall, seated for 150. Both halls have open roofs, and the buildings are heated throughout by hot water. In conjunction with the halls is a tenement of houses running along Kerse Road. The cost of the buildings is about £4500. G. Deas Page, Falkirk, was the architect, and the following were the contractors: —Mason. George Primrose. Grangemouth: joiiier. A. Williamson, Grangemouth: sinter. Mr .lames Rnssell, Grangemouth; piasterer, Mr Peter Baird. Grangemouth; plumber, Mr Peter Kincnid. Grangemouth; painter, Cochrane, Grangemouth; heating apparatus, Messrs Meikle and Pliilp, Edinburgh; glacier, Mrs, D. O'May, Falkirk.
