Notes: This large SSHA housing development was a redevelopment of the late 19th century Wyndford Barracks, whose retaining wall was preserved as an outer boundary. First development (1961): five Mark III 15-storey blocks with four flats on each upper floor; Second development (1962): 637 houses in four-storey maisonettes and flats; Third development (1963 - ?): other high-rise blocks, including seven eight-storey towers; Fourth development (1965-1969): four 26-storey point blocks; Fifth development (1965-1969): nine-storey balcony-access block of maisonettes. The towers were offset by 10 four-storey maisonette blocks and three-storey flats in open court layouts.
