Notes: The power-loom was first successfully introduced in Dunfermline in 1849 by Messrs Andrew Reid and Company. The firm are signalising the 50th anniversary of the innovation by making important additions to their premises, including a warehouse and counting-house, three stories in height, with Mansard roofs at the extremities of the long block. The architect is Mr T Hyslop Ure, of Dunfermline.
