| Miss Ishbel MacDonald’s “Wendy House” | Designed by her brother, Alister, as a summerhouse or retreat, the building was a gift to Miss Ishbel MacDonald by her father, Ramsey MacDonald in 1924. The Glasgow Herald noted “Standing at the side of the house, the shack is substantially built, faced with roughcast lined with white painted match-boarding and has a homely brick fireplace.”
It is assumed that this is one of the two” small single storey buildings of later construction, each with two rooms, sited E and W of house, abutting rear wall dividing property from street” as noted in the listing text for the main house and as such is also listed. |
