Notes: Mr A Scott Blair of the Palace Picture House has acquired a site in Bank-street for the erection of a cinema to seat about 1,500 persons. Plans have been prepared by Messrs John McKissack and Son 68 West Regent Street, Glasgow. No contracts have been placed. [Builder 10 January 1936 Page 128]

NB: After the destruction of this building by fire in February 1969, The Palace in Chapel Lane (architect not known) was used as a substitute, but when that was compulsorily purchased for a shopping development c.1976, the former Rex Cinema in Bank Street (originally the Picturedome, and later the WMR Film Centre and now a Wetherspoons pub - architect not known) became known as the George Cinema.
