A new super cinema is to be constructed in Falkirk at a cost of over £20,000 on the site of the Grand Theatre, Vicar-street. Plans have been passed by the Dean of Guild Court. Mr Urie Scott of Glasgow has prepared the plans on behalf of Associated British Cinemas Limited, London, who are the owners. A building contract has been placed with the Scottish Construction Company Limited, 154 West Regent-street, Glasgow. [Builder 23 June 1933 Page 1012]

Plans are in hand for a new picture house. The architect is Mr Charles McNair, 112 Bath-street, Glasgow. [ Builder 21 July 1933 Page 118]

Amended plans for the reconstruction of the Grand Theatre into a super cinema at a cost of £20,000 have ben passed by the Guild Court on behalf of Associated British Cinemas Limited, 149 Regent-street London. [Builder 28 July 1933 Page 159]

Plans have been prepared for demolition of Grand Theatre and the erection of a cinema by Mr Charles McNair, 112 Bath-street, Glasgow. A contract for the excavation, brick and mason’s work has been placed with Messrs Andrew Mitchell and Sons Limited, Clarkston-road, Cathcart, Glasgow. The steelwork will be by Messrs Redpath Brown and Company Limited, Wellington-street Glasgow. Messrs Giadstone (sic) Browne and Company, 102 Bath-street, are the quantity surveyors.
