Notes: The Marks & Spencer store was designed by J M Munro & Sons and was completed in 1936. It adopted the modular grid system that was developed by architect Robert Lutyens, who was appointed consultant architect at Marks and Spencer in 1934.

The Marks and Spencer store in Ayr was the first designed and built using the modular system that Lutyens had developed.

Marks & Spencer closed the Falkirk store in August 2018.
