Notes: At a special meeting of Dalkeith Town Council held last Friday night competitive plans were submitted from three architects for the erection of an infectious diseases hospital at Whitehill and it was agreed to appoint A Murray Hardie as architect. The cost will be about £4,000. [Building News 22 July 1910 p111]

The hospital was to comprise separate pavilions for Typhoid, Diphtheria and Scarlet Fever, each containing 14 beds, together with an Administration Block and Laundry Block. The site wad at the junction of the roads to Whitehill and Dalkeith. Estimated cost £4,000-5,000

Now an adult training centre.
