Letters from A Duncan Esq. Architect,Chapel House, Murthly between Feb - Sept 1905 show that he worked for James Speid of Forneth. These are signed A Duncan authorising James Speid to pay various Tradesmen for work undertaken "of additions etc @ Forneth House". One letter by A Duncan of Chapel House, Murthly, Perthshire dated 21st July 1905 reads "Received from James Speid Esq. of Forneth the sum of fifty two pounds ten shillings, as a payment to account for preparing plans and superintending the work in connection with additions and alterations to Forneth House".
