Notes: On Monday Sir John Heron Maxwell laid the foundation stone of a new United Presbyterian Church at Waterbeck, near Keithbridge, Dumfries. The church, which will accommodate 381 sitters, will be of the Early English Gothic style, and will be formed of nave and transepts. A manse is also in course of erection. The sites and the whole of the stone required for the buildings have been given free of charge, and the remaining cost is estimated at £l,868. [Building News 17 July 1868 p490]
