|Notes: ||Ayr New Hospital.óLast week the subscribers to the new hospital buildings fund received and considered a report by the referees, Professors Macleod and Gairdner, and Mr Salmond, architect, all of Glasgow, to whom the competitive plans for the hospital had been submitted. All three concurred in placing first the plans submitted by Mr. Murdoch, of Ayr, but Mr Salmond added a rider stating that in his opinion the carrying out of this design would cost £11,300, whereas the conditions prescribed the outside cost as £8,000. Mr. Murdoch stated that he would undertake to have his plan executed for a stipulated sum; and, after a discussion, the meeting was adjourned for two months to enable Mr Murdoch to procure builders' tenders.
