All three concurred in placing first the plans submitted by Mr. Murdoch, of Ayr, but Mr Salmond added a rider stating that in his opinion the carrying out of this design would cost £11,300, whereas the conditions prescribed the outside cost as £8,000. Mr. Murdoch stated that he would undertake to have his plan executed for a stipulated sum; and, after a discussion, the meeting was adjourned for two months to enable Mr Murdoch to procure builders' tenders.
