Notes: Cost stated in Builder when building was proposed: £80,000, including site. [This needs to be checked in source as The Edinburgh Evening News and other sources state that the contracts for the building were let as £18,000. Insufficient funds were raised from shares sold by the company formed for the establishment of the hydropathic and it seems to have been wound up].

Stood in 13 acres of the Plewlands feus. Converted to Morningside College in 1882 at a cost of £3,500, opened 5 October 1883. Proved too large for the purpose and demolished after the College moved to Rockville on Napier Road in 1889. Nos 28-38 Morningside Grove now occupy the site.
