Basic Biographical Details Name: | George Alexander Stewart | Designation: | | Born: | 1878 | Died: | 26 December 1950 | Bio Notes: | George Alexander Stewart was born in 1878 at Fochabers, Morayshire, the third son of George Stewart. He was educated at Milnes Institution in Fochabers and trained as a civil engineer under WD Sang of Kirkaldy. He practised in Scotland before emigrating to South Africa in 1902. He practised there as a civil engineer. He was a member of the Institute of South African Architects, Stewart was a well-known consultant on sewerage and hydro-electrical schemes in Southern Africa.
