George Reid was depute chief architect of Woolworth & Co's Architects' Department throughout the 1970s, succeeding Douglas William Hardy as chief architect in 1980. By that date the responsibilities of the post had greatly diminished. Reid's tenure came to an end in or about 1988 although he remained a fee-paid consultant for some years afterwards.
See entry for George Reid, a student member of the RIBA in 1961. This may be the same person.
