Bio Notes: John Barron Dickie was a carpenter and timber merchant of Peterhead. He was head of the firm Messrs J B Dickie & Co, Alexandra Sawmills, Peterhead. He had a long record of public service, having been a member of the Town Council for 35 years and Lord Provost for six of those years. He also served on the Harbour Board, the County Council and the Education Committee as well as being Vice Chairman of the National Health Insurance Committee for Aberdeenshire. He died on 9 September 1938.
