Basic Biographical Details

Name: John Robertson
Designation:
Born:
Died:
Bio Notes: John Robertson was a second cousin of Robert and James Adam. He may have been the mason who became a burgess of Glasgow by purchase in 1796.

Robertson was the builder of the Barony Church in Glasgow to the designs of James Adam. However he was also responsible for the design of various public buildings in Ayr in the last years of the 18th century and early years of the 19th century. None seem to have been built except Ayr Academy. From what was built he seems to have been a competent late Georgian architect.
