Basic Biographical Details Name: | David Logan | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | January 1839 | Bio Notes: | David Logan was an engineer, probably the nephew of David Logan, architect of Montrose. He was concerned with the building of Robert Stevenson's Bell Rock Lighthouse as foreman builder at the lighthouse itself. His father Peter Logan was also an engineer who worked on the Lighthouse and he had the role of clerk of works at the yard in Arbroath where the stone was prepared.
Logan became resident engineer at Dundee Harbour under Telford (1816-20) and was later responsible for the harbours at Donaghadee and Ardglass in Northern Ireland under Sir John Rennie. In 1834 he was appointed resient engineer to the River Clyde Trustees.
