Bio Notes: George Alexander was a builder architect in Golspie, Sutherland who practised in the first quarter of the 19th century. His work is generally in Sutherland and adjacent counties.

In 1826 a 'Notice to Creditors' appeared in the Inverness Courier. George Alexander had executed a trust in favour of James Brander, writer Golspie, and William Alexander, Golspie and conveyed all his property to them; he then invited his creditors to present their claims.

He died in a fire at Tain New Jail on 15 April 1833 where he was imprisoned for debt. In 1843 the Free Church in Brora was built in the garden of property belonging to the executors of the late George Alexander.
