Bio Notes: John Ernest Gibbons studied for the diploma in architecture in Birmingham. He was elected ARIBA in 1964. By 1970 he had moved to Dalgety Bay in Fife. Later he moved to Edinburgh. He had a post with the Building Directorate of the Scottish Development Department. He was Director of Building and Chief Architect by 1994. His wife Patricia was also an architect but she cease to practise at some point in the 1970s.
