He studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen and was elected ARIBA and ARIAS in 1964. He remained in Aberdeen until at least the 1970s. In 1979 he was working for the Scottish Health Service Building Division in Inverness but by 1984 he had moved to the Aberdeen office.
