Bio Notes: James McAllister Beresford was born on 12 November 1915, the son of John Beresford, steelwork stocktaker, and his wife Mary Jane McAllister. He was elected ARIBA in 1951. He worked for Fife County Architects Department from the mid-1950s until the 1960s. He moved to Edinburgh before 1965.

He died on 13 November 1968 at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
