Allan Murray was born in Scotland in ____. He studied for the degree of BA (Hons) at the University of Dundee and graduated in 1982. He worked briefly in Edinburgh and completed studies at Harvard. He also attended classes at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He qualified in the States and went on to work on major skyscraper projects in Boston and New York before returning to the UK in 1989. After a spell teaching at the Universities of Dundee and Edinburgh he opened his own practice in Edinburgh. The practice now [2013] specialises in urban regeneration and masterplanning and has carried out projects in Scotland as well as in Taiwan, Norway and Germany. He has received a range of awards including a Scottish Design Award and the Architectural Journal Best Building Award. He is a Fellow of the RIAS.
