Bio Notes: William Chalmers Thomson was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1949. He studied architecture at Glasgow School of Art. He was elected ARIBA in 1950.

In the mid-1950s he had a post with East Kilbride New Town Development Corporation. He transferred to Cumbernauld Development Corporation but by 1960 but moved south and became a partner with Colin Buchanan & Partners. He was still with the firm in 1987.
